I work out what you should say before I write a word.

You can ask me to write a website, a brochure or an ad. And I will. But first I’ll ask whether it’s the right thing to make – and the right thing to say.

Sometimes it is. Sometimes the real problem is somewhere else entirely, and no amount of lovely prose will fix it. Here’s how I can help you.

01 — A second opinion

Something isn’t working and you’re not sure what.

Send me your website, your brochure or the advert that didn't land. I'll look at what you’re saying, what you’re not saying and where things have gone awry.

Then I’ll tell you what to change, what you might say instead and whether you need me to do anything else. Sometimes you won’t. I'll say so.

A fixed price, and the sensible place to start.

02 — Website copy and messaging

Your business makes perfect sense until someone asks you to explain it.

Before writing a word, I'll help you work out how to explain what you do, why it matters, who needs to care and what makes you worth choosing.

Then I'll turn that thinking into a new website, a rewrite of the one you have, or the individual pages that need to work harder – working directly with your designer or developer if that makes life easier.

Names and straplines live here too: naming a business, product, venue or event, or finding the six words under your logo that explain what you’re for. Some of the hardest writing there is, and the bit I enjoy most.

Priced by project, once we both know what's needed.

03 — Campaigns and creative ideas

Sometimes you don't need more content. You need an idea.

You might be launching something, promoting something, changing people’s minds or trying to make them notice something they’ve previously ignored.

I’ll find the central thought that holds it all together, then write the words that bring it to life – adverts, posters, email, social media, direct mail, signage or scripts. One beautifully simple execution, or an idea that works across several places.

Either way, it starts with something worth saying.

Priced by project, according to the scale of the job.

04 — The writing itself

Not every job needs a rethink or a big idea.

Sometimes you know exactly what you need. You just need someone to write it properly.

Brochures and leaflets. Newsletters and social posts. Tenders, award entries and pitch documents – the ones that decide whether you win. Speeches, presentations, opinion pieces and articles written in your name.

If it has words in it, I can probably make them better.

Priced by project, once I've seen the brief.

A writer on call

For businesses without a marketing or comms department – or with one that's run off its feet.

You book a set number of days each month, and get someone who already understands your business when the next web page, presentation or urgent bit of writing lands.

Less briefing. Less explaining. Better words, sooner.

Priced together, once we understand your needs each month.

Not sure what you need?
That’s what the first call is for.
